The use
of biological products for the prevention of such diseases
as IBR, PI3, Lepto, BVD, and BRSV will lessen the
chance of residue problems at processing time and minimize
the necessity for treatment later in the cycle. However,
cattle do not always arrive in healthy condition and
immediate treatment may be necessary. Many treatment
routines include vaccines to stimulate immune system
response and lessen the chance for retreatment.
Vaccinations (biologicals) may reduce the need for
antibiotics and other medications which can lead to residue
problems.
