Internal parasites such as worms and flukes can cause undue
stress and permanent economic damage to cattle. Including a
dewormer and/or flukicide in your processing schedule can
control some of this damage. Efficacy of these products
varies as do the withdrawal periods. Improper
administration not only leads to residue problems but can
cause a high percentage of abscesses and skin lesions. This
is especially true with subcutaneous injectables. Caution
must be taken to ensure that abscesses and scar tissue
damage do not occur by administering excess volume per
site. Included in the
Withdrawal Time Chart , route of administration and withdrawal
periods for most approved dewormers. Use this table as
reference only as label directions will provide complete
instructions as to proper use. Consult your veterinarian or
nutritionist for further information.
