Producers that have successfully completed training and
verification can obtain certification by documenting a valid
VCPR (Veterinary-Client-Patient Relationship) and developing
a Beef Quality Assurance/Critical Management Plan for their
individual operation. A form signed by both the producer
and the veterinarian attesting to the fulfillment of these
two requirements will be submitted to the address listed on
the form. After processing, a certification number will be
issued to the producer by the SD Animal Industry Board.
This step is a unique feature of the SD BQA/CMP Program and
provides the framework that positively documents BQA/CMP
activity.
